The Cancer Journey : A New Beginning

Reposted from denisetam.webs.com November 25, 2010

It's been a while! but I'm back! : )

At first I thought blogging again would be useless since no one would be reading since I'm 'all better' now : ) but through these past few months of recovery and getting back into life, it dawned on me that I have a service to those that are sick and their family members.

I'm now working with my parents in their business and studying nutrition on the side. I added mandarin in the mix of it all but realized I was taking on too much.

Living healthy is NOT a piece of cake and is extremely hard work and takes discipline! I at first found it difficult to 'ease back into life' as they all tell me to.

For me, it was more like jumping head first into life : ) of course, though I had the knowledge of how to swim and get myself floating again, but it was difficult to say the least...

I struggled not only with tiredness and stress like everyone else but also the guilt of not taking better care of myself and not taking a firm stance in saying NO to people. It was hard.

Well here I am now, I think i've found a happy medium. I'm fortunate and blessed to be able to work with mum and dad who let me go to yoga in the morning before heading into work or who understand when I'm tired and need time off. *wink*

Arlene and I paired up to start our own support group! : ) We're called Happy Healing, and we started it because we thought it was so important and vital for people to know they can take their sickness and turn it around. Arlene's a nutritionist and have seen and experienced illness both in her family and at work and I, well you know my story, so we wanted  to empower these people with knowledge and with support and encouragement. Feel free to check out our website and pass it along to anyone that may be interested www.happyhealing.yolasite.com (my plug hehe : )

This entry is just to say that I'm back, and will be posting from time to time. My next posts from here on is with the hopes to be able to encourage and help others who may be going through something similar.

Hang in there. There's somebody that cares and that wants you to care as well : )

We have so much to be thankful for!

Love,

Denise
